Leydializ Aviles, a 2024 graduate of Colonial High School, was born and raised in Orlando, FL. While she always had a love for animals, it wasn't until her freshman year of high school, when she joined FFA—a national, student-led agricultural organization—that she discovered a passion for large animal production.

During her time in high school, Leydializ pursued a rigorous academic path, earning her Cambridge diploma and graduating in the top 10% of a class of over 800 students. She also completed her Associate of Arts degree at Valencia College by the time she graduated.

Leydializ was an active member of the Orlando Colonial FFA, competing nationally in both Livestock Evaluation and Food Science and Technology contests. Throughout high school, she raised poultry, swine, and cattle. In her role as the Supervised Agricultural Experience Officer, she served over 700 students. Despite her busy schedule, she balanced her responsibilities with part-time jobs as a dog groomer and as a hostess and waitress at a small Thai restaurant.

Currently, Leydializ is attending the University of Florida, where she is majoring in Animal Science with a specialization in Food Animal. She aspires to work directly in the large animal industry and pursue advanced studies in meat science and food systems.
